Performing arts may include dance, music theater, experimental music performance, experimental opera, spoken word, theater/performance art, and interdisciplinary projects.

A CHANNEL EXCLUSIVE: Hear composer/music journalist Frank J. Oteri lead a discussion with PICA Artistic Director Kristy Edmunds and Creative Capital Program Director for Media and Performing Arts Esther Robinson. PICA's first annual Time-Based Art Festival, held September 12-21, 2003, is intended as a bold new look into the contemporary arena of time-based art, including theater, media, dance, music, and mixed disciplines. It includes artists from all over the world who are converging in Portland for a chance to present and see one another's work, discuss issues, exhange solutions and forge new relationships with audiences and colleagues.
